First ever Kairi Children's Rainbow Fair!

Updated: May 5, 2022

Did you get to the Fair? If not, you missed out an an extraordinary day of spectacular shows, wonderful workshops and peak performances by some of Australia's top circus performers.

Scroll down to see some photos from the day. The event was a auspiced by the Tableland Music Lovers group. Sara Isherwood was the project officer for the event and was extremely happy with the results. It was made possible/supported by Arts Queensland's QLD Arts Showcase Program, the Tablelands Regional Council, Shane Knuth's office, and local businesses Firefly Foods, What's On Magazine and T-Hire.

The organisers are talking about holding another children's Rainbow Fair in another part of the Tablelands next year. It was a wonderful day, especially after the lockdowns and all round hard times mid-pandemic. Oh yes, it felt good to get out and about and the kids had a ball!

Here's some comments from audience members, children and participants on the day:

"Wonderful. My four kids loved this event - ages between 6 - 12 all enjoyed. Thank you to all the organisers and volunteers" KAREN

"All my kids (aged 10, 8, 4) had a fantastic day. Thank you". LIZ

"Thanks for a fun day. Kids enjoyed themselves!!" LEILANI

"Fantastic to have in a small community - 1st time for Kairi". SARAH

"Keep up the excellent work bringing the performing arts to the community". JANE

"Delightful to see children playing and trying new things - performing and seeing performance". LYNDEL

Thanks from me to everyone who came, volunteered, performed, ran workshops and gave feedback. The highlight of my day was when a little girl of about four asked me: "Can you please run this again next year?"
